New Zealand-based startup Alimetry has raised $18 million in Series A funding to enhance its wearable device designed for diagnosing gastric disorders. The non-invasive device uses a flexible electrode array to monitor gut electrical activity, with data analyzed via AI to support clinical diagnostics. Alimetry has already secured FDA approvals and plans to expand its market presence in the U.S. The funding will facilitate further commercialization and development of the technology, which could also aid in diagnosing pediatric and colon-related issues in the future.
