Amazon has announced a new AI-assisted technology for its delivery fleet, called Vision-Assisted Package Retrieval (VAPR). This innovative system uses visual cues to help drivers identify which packages to deliver at each stop, significantly reducing delivery time. By utilizing green circles and red lights, the tech alerts drivers about the designated packages, complemented by audio cues for accuracy. The VAPR system will debut on 1,000 electric Rivian vans by early 2025, following successful testing in cities like Boston. This development aims to streamline the delivery process and eliminate the need for handheld devices.
