Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced a $5 billion investment in Mexico over 15 years, including the launch of AWS Mexico, a new server region. This initiative aims to enhance infrastructure for AI and machine learning, contributing an estimated $10 billion to Mexico's GDP and creating around 7,000 jobs. As data center demand surges, experts predict 73 new facilities will be built, significantly impacting the power grid. AWS assures that its data center will be air-cooled, addressing concerns about water usage in drought-stricken Querétaro.
