Casio Confirms Ransomware Attack, Customer Data Compromised
Casio has officially acknowledged a ransomware attack that compromised customer and employee data earlier this month. Initially reported on October 7, the Tokyo-based electronics giant later revealed that personal information, including legal documents and payroll data, was accessed by hackers. The group known as Underground has claimed responsibility, asserting they stole over 200 gigabytes of sensitive data. While Casio confirmed that credit card information remains secure, the full extent of the damage is still under investigation as some systems remain unusable.
