French startup Constellation Technologies & Operations plans to revolutionize telecommunications by launching a network of satellites to provide 5G internet access from low Earth orbit. By repurposing existing 5G spectrum, the company aims to partner with telecom operators to offer high-speed internet via stationary user terminals. Founder Charles Delfieux emphasizes the need for universal connectivity, noting that convergence between space and terrestrial networks is now achievable. Constellation has secured €9.3 million in seed funding and plans to launch its first prototype satellites by 2026, targeting a constellation of 1,500 for global coverage.
