OpenAI has postponed the release of its new AI image feature for free ChatGPT users due to unexpectedly high demand, according to CEO Sam Altman. The recently launched GPT-4o now allows users to upload and modify images, but currently, only subscribers to ChatGPT Pro, Plus, and Teams can access it. OpenAI has faced challenges with previous product launches, often citing compute capacity issues. The company is working on a $500 billion Stargate data center project to alleviate these constraints and better serve its user base.
