Elon Musk's X Struggles to Boost Subscription Revenue Amidst Advertising Challenges
Despite Elon Musk's efforts to reduce X's reliance on advertising, subscription revenue remains stagnant. A recent analysis reveals that X has generated around $200 million from its Premium service since its 2021 launch, with an estimated $140 million remaining after app store fees. The service, initially dubbed Twitter Blue, relaunched in December 2022 and has since introduced varying subscription tiers. However, estimates suggest only about 1.4 million users are currently paying for these subscriptions. As X's total revenue for the first half of 2024 reached $1.48 billion, subscriptions still comprise a minimal portion of earnings.
