Google Introduces AI Photo Editing Disclosure in Google Photos
Starting next week, Google Photos will feature a new disclosure indicating when photos have been edited using its AI tools, like Magic Editor and Magic Eraser. This move aims to enhance transparency, but many users may still overlook the notification, as it’s not visually prominent. Photos edited by AI will have a note under the Details section, but there won’t be visible watermarks directly on the images. This change follows criticism of Google’s lack of clear indicators for AI-generated content, highlighting ongoing challenges in discerning authenticity online.
