At the Cloud Next conference, Google introduced Ironwood, its latest TPU AI accelerator chip optimized for inference. This seventh-generation chip will launch later this year in two configurations, significantly boosting AI model performance. Google Cloud VP Amin Vahdat highlighted Ironwood's energy efficiency and enhanced processing capabilities, delivering 4,614 TFLOPs of computing power. The chip features specialized cores for advanced data processing, and Google plans to integrate it with its AI Hypercomputer.
