AI development platform Hugging Face has acquired French robotics startup Pollen Robotics, known for its humanoid robot, Reachy 2. The undisclosed deal aims to enhance Hugging Face’s robotics initiatives, which previously included collaboration with Pollen on the open-source robot 'Le Robot' designed for household tasks. Founded in 2016, Pollen raised approximately €2.5 million from investors like Bpifrance before the acquisition. Developers will have the opportunity to download and modify Reachy 2's code, promoting innovation in humanoid robotics.
