Intel's New CEO Plans to Spin Off Non-Core Units
At the Intel Vision conference, new CEO Lip-Bu Tan announced plans to spin off assets that are non-core to Intel's mission, although he did not define what constitutes core versus non-core business. Tan, who took over the CEO role on March 18, also revealed that the company will introduce custom semiconductors for customers. However, he dismissed rumors of a company breakup, a strategy that had been speculated in recent months. This marks a significant shift under Tan's leadership following the ousting of former CEO Pat Gelsinger.
