Inversion Space Secures FAA License for Groundbreaking Reentry Mission
Inversion Space has received a spacecraft reentry license from the FAA, marking a significant milestone for the startup. This approval enables the company to launch its Ray capsule for an orbital cargo delivery demonstration later this year. The Ray capsule, significantly smaller than Inversion’s future spacecraft, will be tested during a mission launching on SpaceX’s Transport-12. The reentry process involves a two-stage deployment of parachutes to ensure a safe splashdown in the Pacific Ocean. Following this mission, Inversion plans to develop a larger vehicle, Arc, set for a future launch.
