Ireland's Data Protection Commission has launched an investigation into Elon Musk's X regarding the use of personal data from European users to train its AI chatbot, Grok. The inquiry focuses on how X processes publicly accessible posts for AI model training. Previously, X had opted in users to share their data with xAI, Musk's AI company. The DPC has a history of imposing significant fines, including nearly 3 billion euros on Meta. The investigation follows a court order last year to restrict X from processing such data under GDPR regulations.
