NHTSA Expands Investigation into Ford's BlueCruise Self-Driving Tech Following Fatal Accidents
The NHTSA has intensified its investigation into Ford's BlueCruise self-driving technology after multiple fatal accidents involving the Mustang Mach E. This expanded probe will include a detailed engineering analysis of BlueCruise's capabilities and limitations. Reports indicate that the NHTSA is exploring concerns that the system may not effectively detect stationary objects at high speeds or low visibility. Currently, over 129,000 Mustang Mach E vehicles are equipped with this technology, which Ford is supporting during the investigation. The inquiry follows two fatal crashes linked to the self-driving feature.
