Perplexity, the AI-driven search engine, has announced it now processes 100 million search queries weekly, up from 250 million in July, translating to about 400 million monthly. CEO Aravind Srinivas revealed plans for ecommerce features, enabling one-click purchases for Perplexity Pro subscribers. The startup is also negotiating a new ad model with brands like Nike and Marriott. However, Perplexity faces legal challenges from publishers alleging content replication, including lawsuits from News Corp. Additionally, it is in talks to secure $500 million at an $8 billion valuation.
