A recent AAA study reveals that smartphone apps monitoring driving habits significantly improve road safety. The research involved 1,400 drivers divided into groups receiving varying feedback. Results showed a 13% decrease in speeding and notable reductions in hard braking and rapid acceleration. Despite improved driving behaviors, participants did not change phone usage habits significantly. Interestingly, most drivers maintained positive changes for weeks post-study. The findings suggest that real-time feedback fosters long-term safe driving practices, offering a promising solution to combat traffic fatalities.
