Tesla Supercharger Network Expands by 2,800 Stalls Worldwide,
Bounce Back After Layoffs
Tesla's Supercharger network has experienced substantial growth, adding 2,800 new charging stalls globally in Q3 2024, following significant layoffs earlier this year. Despite a tough second quarter, the company reported a 23% year-over-year increase in network size and delivered 1.4 terawatt hours of energy. This expansion includes 125 new stations in North America, totaling 2,677 in the region. Tesla's investment of $500 million aims to improve accessibility to its charging infrastructure, while the adoption of the North American Charging Standard further enhances its service offerings. The company also highlighted substantial savings in gasoline and CO2 emissions.
