TikTok has announced a partnership with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) to display real-time Amber Alerts directly in users' For You feeds across the United States. This feature activates when law enforcement issues an Amber Alert in a specific search area identified through users' IP addresses. The alerts will provide essential details, including the child’s photo and description. Following a successful pilot in Texas, where alerts garnered over 20 million views, TikTok aims to leverage its teen user base to raise awareness. The company is also donating advertising credits to NCMEC for promoting youth safety.
