TikTok has introduced Amber Alerts across the U.S. after a successful trial in Texas, aiming to leverage its vast user base of over 170 million to aid in locating missing children. The alerts will appear in users' 'For You' feeds, providing crucial information such as the child's photo and details about the alleged abductor. This initiative is part of a collaboration with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, which previously saw over 20 million views during the Texas pilot. TikTok's strategy includes ad credits to further amplify awareness and response efforts.
