VW Spinoff Scout Unveils Rugged EVs with Gas-Powered Generator
Scout Motors, a Volkswagen Group spinoff, has revealed two new electric vehicles aimed at American consumers, featuring a rugged design that combines modern technology with nostalgic elements. The Scout Traveler SUV and Scout Terra Truck, expected to launch in 2027, will offer up to 350 miles of range and an extended version equipped with a gas-powered generator for over 500 miles. The vehicles will boast a robust powertrain delivering 1,000 pound-feet of torque and advanced off-road capabilities. Pricing is set to start under $60,000. Scout plans to sell directly to consumers, bypassing traditional dealerships.
