Wayve, the U.K.-based startup known for its advanced self-learning automated driving technology, has begun testing its system in San Francisco while simultaneously opening a new office in Sunnyvale, California. The company plans to initially deploy a limited version of its self-driving software, which is designed to learn from experience rather than follow preset rules. This expansion follows a significant $1 billion funding round led by SoftBank Group, with participation from notable investors like Nvidia, Microsoft, and Uber. Wayve aims to provide its innovative 'Embodied AI' to both automakers and robotics firms in the future.
