Nissan has announced a partnership with UK startup Wayve to incorporate its self-driving technology into its advanced driver assistance system, ProPilot, by 2027. This landmark deal comes as Wayve has raised over $1.3 billion from major investors including Nvidia and Microsoft. The integration will feature Wayve’s self-learning software and sensors, enhancing collision avoidance capabilities. Nissan's new system will operate as a Level 2 automation, requiring driver supervision while automating multiple driving tasks. Wayve’s approach is unique as it does not depend on specific sensors, making it adaptable to existing vehicle technologies.
