WhatsApp has introduced a new feature allowing users to add music clips to their Status updates, reminiscent of the Myspace era. This feature enables users to select from millions of songs, with clips lasting up to 15 seconds for photos and 60 seconds for videos. Unlike Instagram, music shared on WhatsApp Status is end-to-end encrypted, ensuring only friends can view it. The rollout of this feature has begun globally and will expand in the coming weeks, following similar updates on Instagram by parent company Meta.
