YouTube has expanded its pilot program to identify AI-generated content that mimics the likeness of creators and influential figures. The initiative aims to improve detection of harmful replicas and is backed by the NO FAKES ACT legislation, co-sponsored by Sens. Chris Coons and Marsha Blackburn. The platform has collaborated with industry leaders like the RIAA and MPA to address the risks associated with AI misuse. YouTube's existing Content ID system will aid in this effort, with top creators involved in initial testing. The company plans to broaden the program throughout the year.
