Zoox, Amazon's autonomous driving division, has voluntarily recalled 258 self-driving cars following concerns about unexpected hard braking. This decision comes after an initial investigation by the NHTSA, which linked two incidents involving motorcyclists colliding with Zoox vehicles. The recall specifically targets vehicles using software versions released before November 5, 2024. A software update was implemented to address the issue shortly after. Zoox is also conducting tests with its custom robotaxis in San Francisco and Las Vegas, expanding its technology trials to Austin and Miami in the future.
