Disney to Merge Hulu Live TV with Fubo in Major Streaming Move
In a landmark deal, Disney will merge its Hulu Live TV service with Fubo, a leading live TV streaming platform recognized for its sports coverage. Disney will hold approximately 70% ownership of Fubo, which will continue to operate as a separate entity. This merger, anticipated to disrupt the streaming landscape, combines their subscriber bases, totaling 6.2 million, to compete against YouTube TV's 8 million subscribers. The agreement resolves Fubo's legal disputes with ESPN, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery, which will collectively pay $220 million as part of the deal.
