Nonprofit Uses AI Agents to Raise Funds for Charity
Sage Future, a nonprofit supported by Open Philanthropy, launched an experiment utilizing AI models to fundraise for charity. Four AI agents, including OpenAI's GPT-4o and Anthropic's Claude models, raised $257 for Helen Keller International in just a week. Although not fully autonomous, these agents performed tasks like coordinating in group chats and creating promotional content. The initiative aims to explore the capabilities and challenges of AI agents in fundraising. Sage plans to introduce more models to enhance the experiment and broaden its philanthropic impact.
