Hackers Exploit Qualcomm Chip Flaw Affecting Millions of Android Users
Qualcomm has confirmed that hackers exploited a zero-day vulnerability in its chipsets, impacting popular Android devices. The flaw, known as CVE-2024-43047, was under targeted exploitation, as reported by Google's Threat Analysis Group. Amnesty International validated these findings, highlighting the threat to users worldwide. The U.S. cybersecurity agency CISA has added this vulnerability to its list of known exploits. Qualcomm has provided fixes to its customers, but it is up to device manufacturers to deploy these patches. The vulnerability affects 64 chipsets, including the widely used Snapdragon 8 (Gen 1).
