Reliance Launches $13 4G Phones to Capture 2G Users in India
Jio Platforms, part of Reliance, has unveiled two affordable 4G phones, the JioBharat V3 and V4, priced at just 1,099 rupees ($13). These devices, aimed at transitioning millions of 2G users, feature basic specifications but offer access to live TV, music, and video streaming. Users can also make digital payments, enhancing connectivity for those unable to afford smartphones. With nearly 490 million subscribers, Jio is strategically positioning itself to dominate the Indian telecom market further. The phones are compatible only with Jio's network and come with a low-cost monthly data plan.
