Elon Musk’s X Allows Third Parties to Train AI on User Data
X, formerly known as Twitter, has updated its Privacy Policy to permit third-party collaborators to use user data for training AI models, unless users opt out. This change indicates a shift towards monetizing data, similar to practices by Reddit and other media outlets. The revised policy, effective November 15, 2024, also modifies the retention period for various types of user information. Additionally, X introduced a 'Liquidated Damages' clause, imposing fees on organizations scraping its content. The move comes as X seeks new revenue streams amidst decreased advertising support.
